So LeBron, Wade and Bosh hook up in Miami 3 years ago. King James crowns the Heat champions about 6, 7, or 8 times. They go to the NBA Finals and lose in their first season together. The following year they won the title. Now in year 3, they appear headed back to the Finals seeking back to back championships. Maybe LeBron's rant isn't so far fetched after all.Nobody in the Eastern Conference has a team that can beat Miami in a 7 game series. Just not gonna happen. The Knicks have proved they're not worthy while their New York counterpart failed to make the move that would have given the Nets a chance to take on the champs, but Josh Smith stayed in Atlanta.
The Celtics may be playing better without all star guard Rajon Rondo, but they're no match for Miami. The Heat have knocked Boston out of the playoffs the past 2 seasons. While the Celtics get older, the Heat get better.
How bout Da Bulls? Nah! Not without Derrick Rose. Ya know what, not even with him. If Rose does come back then the Heat will stick LeBron on him during crunch time. The King shut down the former MVP in the post season 2 years ago, which provided Miami with an easy series victory.
The one team that people are starting to talk about is the Indiana Pacers. I happen to think the Pacers are a very solid team as I picked them to finish 2nd in the East. They play great defense, they go deep on the bench and have a few guys who can score the basketball, namely first time all star Paul George. Now with Danny Granger back in the line up after missing the whole first half of the season, the Pacers have become a team to pay attention to.
All that being said, I doubt Indiana has a shot against Miami in a 7 game series. They had their try last year and were actually up 2 - 1 in the series. Then Dwayne Wade and LeBron James took without Chris Bosh on the court due to an abdominal strain. That's the difference ladies and gentlemen. The Heat have Wade and LeBron. They're 2 of the top 10 players in the league and LeBron is the best player in the NBA hands down. Add the often forgotten all star Chris Bosh and the Heat are once again the team to beat.
Well that's the Eastern Conference...how bout the West. That article is coming tomorrow, but I can tell you now...the road to the Finals may be easy for Miami but their competition will be much stiffer come June.
I really like Indiana. They are a team that can out rebound the Heat as they can control the glass, they can shoot pretty well, and they can attack inside (I really think Paul George is something). They have an excellent defense, and they have already beaten the Heat twice, though both of those wins were at home. They are sending LeBron to the free throw line, and LeBron shoots 76% from the line.
ReplyDeleteAll good points Chinwe. Even still the Pacers can't score with Miami. They don't have enough scorers if that's even a word haha. Prob them two in conference finals.
ReplyDeleteI think the X-Factor isn't George, but Roy Hibbert. The Pacers have excellent defense, and they do rebound very well. If they can actually force D-Wade and the rest of the Heat players into bad plays like they have been doing for the season, and allow LeBron James to take over, they are fine with that. I think the Heat will win though, because you are right, you have to score to take advantage of your good defense. And I don't know if anyone on the Pacers can score 30 consistently. Plus, the Pacers have to beat the Knicks to get to Miami. And the Knicks have a player that can score consistently.
