The LA Dodgers are The Next Pupil
of The Evil Empire Philosophy by: Sam Goldman
The New York Yankees have historically dominated their respective
sport. Consistent spending sprees have
given them a bad reputation. The philosophy is no longer effective thanks to
the emergence of small market teams. Magic Johnson's ownership group has decided
to rekindle the ways of the evil empire.
Despite bringing in legendary coach
Joe Torre, L.A. took on the role of a small market team. Minimal playoff results
were generated from this philosophy. Investing large sums of money became the
LA Dodgers new game plan.
During the high point the Yankees were able to obtain a record 27
titles. A-Roid is one of the multiple veterans on New York’s roster thriving on
an overpriced contract. A return to the player development farm system
philosophy appears to be the only route of the mess. Using the ways of the evil
empire the Dodgers have invested large amounts of money in multiple areas.
Magic Johnson’s ownership purchased the Dodgers for a sports record 2
billion dollars according to ESPN. A major blockbuster trade with the Boston
Red Sox resulted in LA picking up more than a quarter of a billion dollars
in salaries according to the LA times. The Yankees also became infamous for
blockbuster trades. Similar to the
Founder of the Evil Empire the LA Dodgers will experience success before
crashing and burning.

Jeez, you love Magic Johnson. It's a baseball article and you still find a way to talk about Magic. . . lol - messing with you bro!
