Which Road Shall I Take?

Sports is a Business, Sports is a Business, for the love of God Robyn, get it straight, SPORTS IS A BUSINESS!

When Johnny Damon decided to leave the Boston Red Sox for our Nemesis, The New York Yankees, I burned his shirt and that was that. He was dead to me and I was fine. It was liberating.

This year, I am in a position where I might have to say good bye to two of my all time favorite New England Patriot players.  I’m not taking this well. I have already shed tears many times and I am not embarrassed to say so. Many know of whom I am talking about and have seen my passion for these players on twitter or in previous blogs.

People don’t get how I can be so attached and not willing to let go.  I have been able to break it down. Nice guys finish last and I am tired of it. It’s not just a sports thing, it’s a life thing.

This drama of who stays and who goes represents every unfair situation I have witnessed and that has brought me to a place I never thought I would go…..do I just deal with it and move on …or

Should I kiss my allegiance to my New England Patriots Goodbye?

Should I just appreciate football for what is it and not have a team anymore? Maybe just appreciate players for their talent and have no home to rest my jerseys?

I am making a watermelon out of a cherries here and I realize that, however as stated – I’m tired of the nice guys finishing last.  My players will move on, go to other teams and hopefully thrive.  For me, it’s about principle and right now it’s just not fair.

So, I am at a cross roads. I’m stuck. Every day I want to see if today is the day one of my players is let go or traded.  It’s become rather obsessive, I admit. Big picture people, big picture. I want the nice guys to stay w/me. I want the nice guys to be on MY team. I want MY team to get real and stop thinking about the money for just a second….I know it won’t happen because …

Sports is a business, Sports is a business for the love of God Robyn, get it straight. Sports is no longer about sports, it’s about the business….and that sucks!

  1. Seriously man? 2 players? I feel no remorse for your little New England patriots, as a matter if fact, I hope gronk breaks his other arm. Why don't you try going through what the colts did last year? Manning, Clark, brackett, garçon, and many many other players that were a sentimental part of this team in Indianapolis. Sentiment will get you so far, but to question your allegiance to your team is downright pathetic. Wow, you might have to lose 2 players, if the pats didn't always do things the so called patriot way, then they could avoid a lot of this stuff. I still think it's ironic, say what you want, but the pats are tainted, and their superbowls should all have asterisk by them. No cheating, no wins, it obvious. So take your petty tears, and dry them up. I feel no remorse, and call it how I see it. You can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen... 2006 afc title game.... What I thought!!! Best title game ever, colts for life, believe that, with no manning.... I hope Ryan mallet serves you good soon enough... What you gonna do when Brady leaves? Curl up in the fetal position for weeks? It's coming soon bro, and you might as well prepare for it now!!!

  3. Yes respect the ladies Scott. And don't complain about one bad year. It's like when David Robinson got hurt that year for the Spurs and they got the number 1 overall pick. That guy was Tim Duncan. Kinda similar with Peyton and Luck. You're Lucky bro!

  4. I said this year was different , I said it was obsessive and I said it had to do more about the big picture . I have been through Grogan, Bledsoe and now Brady - Im at a cross roads because I happen to disagree w/upper mgmnt.
Cry all you want in regards to your Colts- sorry Peyton could only give that 1 ring oh wait and I think we beat him again with The Broncos - yes , that's right we did.

    2. Sorry, the comment above had a typo. Stats prove Tom Brady is better than Peyton Manning in terms of wins, but give me one Patriot team led by Tom Brady that WASN'T better than Peyton Manning's Colts teams.
