The Top 20 Players in the NBA

We all love our lists so we can scream and shout at each other about who deserves to be ranked higher than the other.  It brings about a fun debate and discussion where we start to break down every player we have matched evenly, make a scratch here, cross a guy off there and puzzle with the last few spots knowing that a player that may deserve to make your list will be left off.  It's hard to separate players and their rankings because there are different positions on the floor where some guys are 6' feet tall and others near or at 7' feet.  Comparing Chris Paul and Dwight Howard is unrealistic so we find other ways to rank the best in the game.

We use variables such as how much does that player mean to their team and how bad they would suffer if he weren't there.  You look at statistics of course and look at the tangible evidence such as points, rebounds and assists per game.  There are the intangibles of things like leadership, confidence and clutch plays.  Then there is the player himself and the skill set he has and displays game after game.  My list is based on past performance, current success, future projections and what my eyes tell me.  My number 1 guy and everybody's number 1 guy will probably remain there for another 5 years.  Check out the list and please leave your thoughts.

*Kobe Bryant and Derrick Rose are not on the list because they've barely played all year.

  1. I think Westbrook is arguably the second best point guard in the league.

  2. Whatever position he plays he is certainly a top 20 player. Recent injuries and Durants presence drop him a bit.

  3. Russell Westbrook should not be traded
