Raptors Extend Coach Casey With 3 Year Deal

The Raptors made a quick move to extend coach Dwane Casey almost immediately after the season ended. Giving him a 3 year deal. The move has not been announced by the team yet, but was leaked by an "unnamed source".

Casey led the Raptors to a franchise best 48 wins the season and a bucket away from a 2nd round appearance with the Heat. The team praised him in their exit interviews. ''He's a great dude,'' guard DeMar DeRozan said of Casey. ''Sometimes you don't even look at him as a coach because you can talk to him about any situation. I think that helped us a lot.'' Vasquez went on to say ''This guy did so much and really got us ready,'' guard Greivis Vasquez said. ''As a leader, you've got to give him a lot of credit. He did a great job. I thought we got better throughout the season. We gradually got better and the coaching staff was great.''

Probably didn't sway Masai's opinion of him but the respect of the locker room is always important to have for a head coach.
