Where would Kings be without Gaborik?

As the early May trading deadline came for NFL teams, the L.A. Kings made the deal that just might have given them the 2014 Stanley Cup title. On May 4th, the Kings grabbed Marian Gaborik from the Columbus Blue Jackets and sent forward Matt Frattin, a 2nd round pick and a conditional third round pick to Columbus.

Now, mind you, Gaborik was coming off a collar-bone injury, but th-e Kings were 28th in goals scored at the time of the trade, and with Gaborik being a 30 plus goal-scorer, seven times during his career, his presence alone was enough to get the Kings offense revved up for post-season play.

And there were the Kings, trailing 4-3 in game 7, in Chicago and on the road.

That's when Gaborik struck.
