Some breaking news from ESPN this afternoon that the Lakers have acquired Carlos Boozer from the Bulls on amnesty waivers.
Boozer was released by the Chicago Bulls earlier this week, and teams with cap space could make a bid on a portion of his $16.8 million contract.
The Lakers made the highest bid in a blind auction and were awarded him on Thursday shortly after 5 p.m. ET.
Boozer averaged 13.7 points and 8.3 rebounds for the Bulls last season.
The Lakers were sitting in the corner most of the free-agency period but they've had a late run of success adding boozer and Ed Davis to upgrade the roster at least slightly.
From a Lakers perspective, Boozer will help but he's not the player he was even just a few years ago. I think Laker fans remember Boozer with the Jazz and they are all too familiar with his playoff travesties.
Lakers should be able to get to 40 wins now, at least!
Now all they need is a coach and they are all set.
