San Francisco 49ers: Who should step up in place of Glen Dorsey?

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that San Francisco 49ers’ defensive tackle Glenn Dorsey tore his biceps on his left arm at practice Friday and is expected to miss the entire season. The injury comes as a major disappointment to not only the 49ers defense, but to Dorsey as well as he was entering the final year of his contract.

The injury will require surgery and will affect his value on the open market this off-season. He became a huge factor in the 49ers’ defensive scheme after being deemed a “disappointment” in his tenure with the Kansas City Chiefs who selected him 5th overall in the 2008 draft. Dorsey’s spot is expected to be filled by Quinton Dial who is entering his second NFL season.
